Mission Reuse starts pilot for alternative to disposable coffee cups
Each year, we throw away three billion coffee cups. How can we cut down on this mountain of garbage?
Two cafés in Utrecht are starting a trial with reusable cups. Customers won’t have to wash these themselves; they just turn them back in on their next visit.
This project is part of the Mission Reuse program, an initiative set up by Enviu, Natuur & Milieu and Recycling Netwerk Benelux. They will start with reusable cups at two cafés that have a lot of take-out business, and a second pilot will follow with take-out meal containers.
Mission Reuse is made possible in part with support from Stichting Doen, Adessium Foundation and Gieskes-Strijbis Fonds.
