Healthy living environment
Less pollution and harmful chemicals

Pollution and harmful substances pose a threat to our health, biodiversity, and a livable future. Adessium Foundation supports initiatives that reduce pollution and limit the use of and exposure to hazardous chemicals.
How we see this theme
Harmful chemicals are everywhere. They are found in the plastic that keeps our food fresh, in the water-repellent coatings on our clothing, and in the electronic devices we use every day. As a result, we are increasingly exposed to substances that pose risks to our health.
Scientific research also shows that our environment has become severely polluted with chemicals that accumulate in water and soil. Pollution from chemicals has now reached such levels that it is considered the third planetary crisis, alongside climate change and biodiversity loss. Adessium Foundation is committed to raising awareness of this often-overlooked issue and contributing to positive change.
How we go about this
- Policy change. We support organizations that advocate for stronger policies to reduce harmful substances in our environment.
- Raising awareness. We support initiatives that increase public awareness of how pollution affects human health.
- Scientific knowledge. We fund organizations that make scientific knowledge on this issue widely accessible to both the public and policymakers.
- Safe alternatives. We support initiatives that help businesses transition to cleaner production methods and safer alternatives.
