Marilles Foundation promotes dialogue between experts and organizations addressing the challenges facing the Balearic Islands’ marine environment. In an interview with Marilles Foundation and other members of the Med Sea Alliance, director Aniol Esteban discusses the importance of marine protected areas (MPAs) in the Mediterranean. “Local fishermen also benefit, as fish populations recover more quickly within and around strictly protected zones.”
