Dokters van de Wereld
Dokters van de Wereld is the Dutch branch of Médecins du Monde, an independent international movement fighting for universal access to healthcare.
Dokters van de Wereld takes action for people who are excluded from healthcare or face barriers to accessing it. They provide medical care, offer health education, and help these individuals obtain the appropriate care.
Example: mobile dental clinic
When the Dokters van de Wereld mobile dental clinic visits the homeless shelter where Michel lives, his teeth are found to be in very poor condition. Since he cannot afford the cost, the organization helps him get a new set of teeth. We spoke to him about the support he received from the organization. “Life can suddenly take everything away from you.”
