Circular Economy Action Plan: the master plan for a cleaner, more competitive Europe

In mid-March, the European Commission published its master plan for a cleaner and more competitive Europe: the Circular Economy Action Plan or CEAP. This plan is part of the European Green Deal, the road map for Europe containing measures to make the European economy more sustainable.

The CEAP is an ambitious, comprehensive strategy for reducing the environmental and climate impact of our products and economic activity. It offers a unique opportunity to reshape our means of production and consumption to ensure they benefit people and the planet.
A key element in this action plan is the Sustainable Products Policy Framework, which our partners the European Environmental Bureau and Zero Waste Europe have worked hard on: products must satisfy specific circularity criteria in order to be allowed on the European market.
